Well I was reading through the project forum and saw the thread about madcat's build. In the video the thing on the firewall is just open, so I guess it will run fine if I leave it open too.

Yeah I eventually took it off completely and jammed a screw in the vac line just in case.

Edit: My 89 doesn't have that solenoid so I can't help oyu there.

Well, im unaware of any factory non-airport 4ZS1 castings so it would definately be an aftermarket head.
