damn did pretty much all of this and then i realised because my car is RHD the brake fluid reservoir is on that side (passenger side for you guys)... Looks like im stuck... fuck.
I dropped the engine to get the bolt out, to remove the whole alt mount is impossible, cant get my ratchet in there for enough grip/motion, just slips off. double drat.. gonna have another look once i re-hydrate. 35degree heat. yes thread resurection, but FU, saves threads ![]()

No problem. I did want to contribute a frequent problem with those having 1.8L engines. Not only is the pos. battery wire that connects to the alternator rather damn close to the exhaust manifold, contributing to low output after a few years, but a leaky power steering pump will mean rapid death for the alternator below.
So if your power steering pump leaks, ignore it for base models and 1.6 DOHC models. Definitely rebuild or replace it for 1.8 DOHC models.
