well this is what i am doing right now:
![]() the caliper and bracket on the right used to look exactly like the caliper on the left. i am cleaning them up and fully rebuilding them. ima also get them powdercoated black, and then i may use or sell them. probably i will put them up for sale when they're finished, and i they don't sell after a while i'll use them for my black stylus when i do the disc brake conversion. also, i cut the rear rotors off y blue stylus, and then painted them so i can use them in the future: ![]() they are right within spec so that works out great.

yeah, sandblasters are awesome! i was originally gonna send them to you to get powdercoated, but my coworker is doing them for me for less than what it would cost just for me to ship it to you and back. ![]() i do need to pm you about some rims though.

i started to get my spare calipers powdercoated, here is a rear one almost done, i just need to clean the surface where the banjo bolt goes. but otherwise it has all brand new bolts, boots, seals, clips, etc etc. they will be fully reman'd calipers powdercoated black. i will be selling all 4 calipers and rear rotors once i am finished:
![]() i was going to sell my stock rear speakers to netdemon because they sounded great when i first got my car, but they started to rattle and vibrate because they were starting to rip apart, so they were no good to sell. but i figured i would try and see if i could repair it with rubber cement: ![]() that is after the 3rd coat, i put like 3 more coats on. and believe it or not, it actually worked and the speakers work as if they are brand new. absolutley no crackling, rattling or anything and had perfect sound quality, and were thumping great. it has been 3 days since i repaired them and it seems to be holding up. we'll see how long it lasts. eventually i'll be replacing the entire sound system anyways.

well today i tried to "reseal" the trunk seal. it has been leaking water in the trunk when it rains, and i have had this problem with all my stylii, and it's very annoying. it doesn't leak alot of water, but enough to get the carpet and stuff under where it drips water wet.
so i removed the seal, cleaned the area up, then used some butyl tape to put on where the seal goes. for those who don't know what that is, it's the same stuff that they used to hold the plastic lining on the door inside the door panel, you know that sticky black stuff. well i think it should work well because it stays sticky forever and will fill in/seal the seal really well and mold to the surface it needs to. i have used silicone sealant before on my other stylus, but that did not work. here's some pics: the butyl tape: ![]() where i put it: ![]() i put it along the entire upper part of the trunk, and down the sides aswell. then i just re-installed the seal on top of the tape stuff and pressed down real hard to get it to mold in and stick together. next time it rains i'll see how well it works. i hope it stays dry. also, i tried this new headlight clearing kit we have at work the other day, it's the kind where to sand the headlight down, then slowly work your way to a super fine 3000 grit wetsand, and then polish them afterwards with a handheld pneumatic polisher. here is some pics: ![]() ![]() i haven't blacked out the ends on the driver headlight yet, i've been lazy. but all in all it looks just as good as the my original way, where you actually spray the clearcoat on. there are some advantages and disadvantages though: pros: - no waiting time at the end to let a clearcoat dry - may possibly last longer as OEM plastic is probably more resilient than spraypaint - no chance of getting runs in the headlight from spraypainting it. cons: - takes longer to do - take alot more labor - does not fill in pits like the clearcoat spray does, so deep scratches and pits do not come out, but 99% of the time are not visible enough to make a difference anyways - requires a bit more skill, as if not done well and carefully headlights will come out foggy in the end. - requires more patience i am going to see how long these headlight last before they turn foggy and yellow again, my headlights that i sprayed have turn yellow and foggy after almost 2 years, but i did nothing to maintain their clearness and never cleaned/polished them or anything. so i will do the same with these headlights and see how long they last.
