ya it sucks pretty bad so welding it wont hold huh? the tuner said my wideband was way off he said with my tune my wideband said i was between 10 and 12 the entire time when he looked at his wideband at the lowest it went was a high 13 so im sure i did plenty of damage early on. the interesting thing is i didnt hear or feel any detonation. so i guess i gotta get a new head port it polish it and have the machine shop do everything looks like im down 300+ in just head stuff
so anyways i wanna know why me and zimahype put out crappy numbers and why lucs were so good. it seems like really the only big thing luc has is the 1.8 over us but we have some things over him and he crushed our numbers i want eddie to get some dyno numbers with his 1.6 now |

Do you want that RS head I got, its got 180,000km on it and its already pulled from the engine. Its a complete head with stock cams, solid lifters and all...

welding can hold, but it's $$ and you have to be experienced in doing heads..
running lean will not cause you to crack stuff.. you detonated man and detonation happens LONG before you can hear it.. when you do hear it, it's been detonating several hundred RPMs before that... you blew up your car long ago, like i've warned!! , when you were probably pushing -30- psi!!!!!!!! so take your #s with a grain of salt Quote:

i use a good machine shop that sends heads out to a good welder so thats not a problem and it wont cost to much to have it welded im just concerned welding wont hold ya know? would have been cool to see what number my non blown up motor could have done

Tuning is everything, its what makes or breaks a good car...
I have said it twice and I will say it a third time if you want a perfectly good head I will sell it to you for cheap + shipping... Better luck next time...![]()

I would not trust welding, its like welding a crank or cams it can be done but its not recomended. I sway get a new head and get it ported.

Thats fine its your call. I was not going to use the head I got a good 1.8 head. I live like 10 minutes down the road from supry1y "Mike Cove" if you do want it I can drop it off at his place and have him port it at what ever his cost is and then ship it to ya.
