thats a cut bumpstop not wooden

I'm not entirely sure, but I heard a bit of rattling once in a while and the bumpstops in there took care of it. and no no no there wasnt anything loose. I made sure to look for something loose that would rattle

Fail again...
Nice try, but as soon as you have any travel, the boot comes into contact with the strut at an angle...the boot also expands a bit when it is spinning. (Already tried it with Mitchell's struts I custom made)...I could pinch the boot and it would easily impact. Pretty much the same reason the rear inserts wouldn't be a good fit in the front, because they were too long, and lowering them would shred a CV boot...
At MOST, you have .75" clearance, which means the strut after modification is still ~1.25" minimum taller than stock...

Those are too big...way too big...try ~35mm ID...
the 44mm Koni's are what I built the custom rear struts around for Mitchell...

Hey y0!, he added WAY more than 1.5" in extension, so as Malachi said, you will be adding metal to the CV joint/shaft.

Cool. I just used stock front struts (a little shorter, a little firmer valving) and welded on the sway bar mounts after grinding them off the old rears.
I used a tub of ice water and intermittent welding intervals. It was stupid, scary, and I don't know what I was thinking. It works great, but I was lucky, and will NEVER do it again. I machined/rethreaded the front rods to match height. Again, DON"T EVER TRY THIS or u might release high pressure oil all over you and possibly catch on fire!

DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME. I WAS WHAT YOU CALL, AN IDIOT!!!! (A very lucky idiot)

It is easier to cut off the entire bottom section and use half of it to bolt onto the new strut.

Is it better to use xs or gsi front struts to use to modify them for the rear of my 91 rs. It sounds like people have used both. Thanks

can someone do me a favor and measure the strut. What is the over all length, the length of the rod, and the length of the body of the strut? As well as what is the diameter of the base of the strut? If any one could help i would appreciate it. Thanks.
