so it's not a T28 because the turbine housing is a T25 while the guts are T28???
No, it's internals are different than the T28's. Look at the turbine and compressor wheel diameters and trims.

Pressure ratio's above 2.0. So psi will depend on your altitude.

Unless you want full boost below 4500 on a 1.6.

No, it's single scroll. And you wouldn't get any spool time benefit with a twin scroll turbo on the stock manifold. You need an equal length turbo manifold and also, garrett doesn't sell a twin scroll turbine for T25's or 28's. Just certain 30's and larger.

I never said the 2860 was a better turbo for Cram than the 2560. I was pointing out the differences between the two.

Now re-read what I posted and tell me how you translated that into this:

None of it concerned Cram's choice of turbo, it was simply pointing out that spool wasn't the only difference between a GT28xx and GT25xx. He's going to run the 2560 at the heart of its efficiency whereas a GT28 wouldn't be as efficient since it is larger, thus more efficient at higher pressure ratios and flow rates, none of which Cram's engine is going to see.

got me there!

btw, my arguement was not choice of turbo, but reference of the turbo to a "GT28R" because if you look at some GT28's the wheels are of similar or same dimensions.

either way, 14psi out a GT2560R eats stockers all day. and i might see that upper ratio soon enough. i am da flange man biznitch, working on a set of modified secondaries and custom intake manifold and maybe in the next year or two...HALTEC...shhhhhhhhhhhh, dont tell the mrs

i got to mocking up the GT unit. i'll post more pics tomorrow.

check it out, my coolant has flake

banjos are done

wtf, they sent me a AN-3 when i asked for an AN-4 oil restrictor...i'll call them up tomorrow and get my goodies

some before pics of the tbird before i about ripped it off from frustration...3000 miles...total

aren't these sexy???

not even close huh?

had to modify the bracket below the wastegate actuator to clear the radiator

i get to keep my upper coolant line after some modification of the engine hoist bracket

i actually got the turbo clocked and i have to tell yea, not much wiggle room for the lines. i still need a drain flange, gonna get the thread type and install a 1/2" NPT to 5/8" pipe end to drain it. oil line clears A O K. i will need more stainless braided for the lower line. it just clears the wastgate rod by 1/8". i'll post pics of the mocked/clocked turbo tomorrow after my classes.

i should be working on my midterm for my first master's class, but nooooooooooooooooo i have to tear down the RS

i get my FMIC tomorrow too, im so stoked!!!!
